A Year in Review

January
We have just moved in and are discovering the new sites around us.

February
We get snow. Lots of it.

March
We can finally see grass again and can play outside with things that have wheels.
I visit grandma and realize I won't ever see recognition in her eyes again. I'm heartbroken for us both. 
The love of tractors really begins here.
Miles learns to ride a bike.
We begin planting seeds for our garden.
The weather breaks and we begin to really discover our new little town.

April
The garden is turned and ready.
Miles plays baseball.

MayBen cuts his own hair.
Miles gets a mohawk.
More work on the garden.

June
We get two little mousers, Bitsy & Slim. 
We enjoy our first summer with a pool.
We are really enjoying our first summer here. I'm loving the clothsline and all of the extra outdoor space.

July We experience our new town at the 4th of July.
The garden is in full swing.

August
The boys are ring bearers in a family wedding.
Our kitchen is filled with tomotoes waiting for attention.
We do lots of canning.
Miles starts kindergarten and Ben starts preschool.

September
Miles plays soccer.
We pick apples at a local orchard.

October
Ben turns 4.
Trick or Treat.

November
Our cat need to be extracted from a pipe with the jaws of life.
Miles turns 6.

December
Tim builds an ice rink in our yard. Miles becomes passionate about hockey.

Enjoying Christmas Eve dinner with family. I think the look on Ben's face captures nicely his ornery nature.
Christmas morning started at 6. One of the things Miles wanted most was a fog machine. They walked into the room on Christmas morning to a room filled of fog.

When I told him to give his brother some space with his playmate, he cried as if his heart was broken. Once he settled down he decided he was happy to hang out with me and asked me to dance and twirl with him in the kitchen.

Miles' hockey team got to the opportunity to play at the intermission of the Blue Jackets game. I think his favorite part was being on the jumbotron.
My favorite part about December so far has been the fact that we get to use this room, finally! This room has no vents and no heating and so since we moved in last winter, we've only gotten to use it in warmer temperatures. We got a pellet stove installed last week and we've really been enjoying using this room, watching the snow fall all around us and staying toasty warm at the same time.
